Overall, the brand promises to provide “earth friendly” and “cruelty free” products that “smell like a garden,” not like harsh chemicals.9 The implication is that these products are safer for children and pets.

The Mrs. Meyer’s brand has received primarily favorable reviews from online mom bloggers and the media. The main negative comments come from those who find the scent too powerful. In 2008, the Mrs. Meyer’s brand was acquired by SC Johnson, demonstrating that the brand had established a unique market position with moms.

As further demonstration of success, the Wall Street Journal online calls the Mrs. Meyers Clean Day line “a surprise retail hit” and highlights that it carries a 30 percent price premium.10
